Try reading the
newspaper or a few chapters in a book with one eye covered. You will soon
become tired, your reading will be slow and you are likely to miss some
of the words on the page. The same analogy holds true for hearing. Many studies
have shown that when you have hearing loss in both ears, wearing two hearing
instruments is the most beneficial. Proper input to both ears is essential
for accurate localisation of sounds and to maximise speech understanding - especially
in noisy situations.
