The combined history of ReSound and GN Danavox provides a legacy of innovation that is truly unmatched in the industry today. ReSound Corporation revolutionized the hearing instrument industry in the early 1990's with Wide Dynamic Range Compression (WDRC), a process that imitates the function of a healthy cochlea. WDRC has become the industry standard.
GN Danavox products date back to the 1940's with a tradition rich in the manufacturing of high quality BTE hearing instruments. As technology moved to the forefront of hearing instrument manufacturing, Danavox introduced Digital Feedback Suppression (DFS) technology in a power, analog BTE in the early 1990's. The Danasound product line was introduced in the eary 1990s. The innovative BTE design received accolades worldwide. This BTE design is carried on today in the Canta product line.
GN ReSound was created with the merger of GN Danavox and ReSound in 1998. This merger combined two companies with solid histories of innovation. GN ReSound introduced the first truly open platform digital product line in the hearing healthcare industry - Canta. The Canta Family products are 100% software driven - to the extreme of having "2-in-1" products that deliver one of two digital signal processing strategies and feature sets with the click of a mouse.
GN ReSound takes pride in the early achievements of Danavox and ReSound. We continue to rely upon the ingenuity of our employees coupled with the needs of the hearing impaired in today's advanced technology world to create the next generation of hearing instruments.
